Sedona's Scenic Wine Country Tours
Alcantara Estate Vineyards Tasting Experience
If you just want to dip your toes into the river and enjoy some of Northern Arizona’s best wines, then this is your perfect tour. At just three hours long, this tour takes you to one of the most pristine and beautiful settings, Alcantara Vineyard, the largest estate vineyard of the region.
Our tour begins with admiring the abundance of red rock formations that surround our region as we travel west out of Sedona towards Alcantara Vineyard. Upon arrival, you will see why this is one of our favorite spots. Nestled on the banks of the Verde River, Alcantara is a beautiful place to relax and sample Arizona wines, sunshine and the company of those you cherish. From the back deck and lawn, you will see caves and Indian ruins that date back to over 1,000 years ago. Encompassing nearly 80 acres of available land, this is also the area’s largest continuous vineyard. The vineyard produces about 15 different wines annually, ranging from fruity whites to big and bold reds. There is sure to be a wine here to meet your fancy. For those liking dessert wines, we love their Port. We can even take a stroll down through the vineyard to the wedding chapel located on premises. Also on the property is the confluence of the Oak Creek and the Verde River. For those of you that may be enjoying the Oak Creek while visiting Sedona, this is where it ends and turns into the Verde River. This connection point of two waterways, the confluence, inspired the name for one of Alcantara Vineyard’s finest wines. In the limestone cliffs adjacent to where these rivers meet, you will see cliff dwellings dating back to the Anasazi and Sinagua Indian cultures. If your tour takes place on a Friday or Saturday, and we can get you to the vineyard by 11:30 a.m., you will also experience a special vineyard tour by one of the knowledgeable staff of Alcantara. Note: If your tour runs later than your scheduled time or you choose to extend your tour, you are responsible for the added time at our normal rates. |

A Multi-Vineyard & Winery Tasting Experience
For those of you wanting to enjoy local wines at the vineyards, this is your perfect tour. Although there are over twenty establishments to taste wine in the area, there are only four actual vineyard locations to sample the wine. On this tour, we take you to two of these vineyards, located in Page Springs.
Enjoy some of the majestic red rock scenery including canyon, bluff and red rock vista, as you head out to the area where wine making started in Northern Arizona. This area is called Cornville, and we will be taking you to the Page Springs area. This is where over a decade ago, John Marcus started the first vineyard in Northern Arizona, Echo Canyon, whose tasting room is in Jerome. A little further down, you will find DA Ranch & Vineyard, in addition to Javelina Leap Vineyard, Oak Creek Vineyard, and Page Springs Cellars. This 3-hour tour allows you to get a taste of the different wines and wine making styles of the wines made along the Verde Valley Wine Trail. Note: If your tour runs later than your scheduled time or you choose to extend your tour, you are responsible for the added time at our normal rates. |

The Flavors of Historic Jerome
This tour is for those that not only want to sample local wines, but revel in the landscape and local history of the area. We begin your tour by picking you up at your hotel in Sedona, and then heading through Old Town Cottonwood, Clarkdale and into historic Jerome.
Prior to Arizona becoming a state in 1912, Jerome was one of the wildest towns in Arizona. At one time, it had the largest copper mines in the state. The copper mines closed down in 1959. Many say there is more vertical depth to Jerome than horizontal with all the mineshafts still in existence throughout Cleopatra Hill. When the mines were in full operation, the population in Jerome was once 15,000 but now the town has dwindled to just 500 residents. Do not let that fool you in terms of its character. Jerome is a happening town with great restaurants (our favorite is The Haunted Hamburger), interesting and unique galleries, unusual architecture, historic buildings, a “sliding” jail, a haunted hotel, an interesting mining museum, two cool bars in which to meet the real locals and several wine tasting rooms. On this tour, you have the opportunity to sample wines from Echo Canyon, the first vineyard in Northern Arizona. And if you are a fan of the bands Tool, Pucifer, or A Perfect Circle, you will want to visit James Maynard Keenan’s place Caduceus Cellars. Cellar 433 has an incredible selections of both red and white wines, ports, and sparkling wines, with one of the most magnificent views around. Another wine tasting room to visit is Passion Cellars, which has reds, whites and something a little different – agave wines. This 4-hour tour allows you to sample wines from up to four different wine tastings rooms as well as enjoy the shops and restaurants of Jerome. Note: If your tour runs later than your scheduled time or you choose to extend your tour, you are responsible for the added time at our normal rates. |
